The Universality of Sin.

The Undisputable fact that all men are sinners is attested by the Following five sources in Willmington Pps 720- 721

A The Testimony of History.

It has been estimated that some forty billion humans beings have lived (or are living) upon this earth since Adam. It would not be unreasonable to suggest that perhaps one third of these forty billion people lost their lives at the hand of another human being.
Hundreds of millions of living flesh-and-blood creatures have been stabbed, stoned, strangled, shot, gassed, bombed, burnt, buried alive, hung and drowned by other living flesh-and -blood creatures.

B. The Testimony of Conscience.

How often has man’s built-in “sin gauge” smote him to despair  and even to suicide over his sinful actions. This club of conscience strikes all men, regardless of their brains, brawn, bloodstream, or banking powers. Thus, while the voice of conscience can be defiled, it cannot be denied.
Joh_8:9  And hearing, and being convicted by conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the oldest, until the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

Rom_2:15  who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and the thoughts between one another accusing or even excusing one another,

C. The Testimony of Religions.

“ How shall a man be just before God?” said Job in the OT. This is the question asked by everyone for centuries. Man Longs to reconciled to the Supreme Being. Even the heathen in the jungles are conscious that they Have offended the Great Efile Mukulu. The altars across the world are littered with the blood of countless animals slain to try to find reconciliation. Even the greek Philosophers wrestled with the problem of moral evil.

Pagan Sacrifice.
D. The Testimony of the Holy Scriptures.
1Ki 8:46  If they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin), and if You are angry with them, and have delivered them up before the enemy, and they have been led away captive to the land of the enemy, far or near,
1Ki 8:47  yet if they shall think within themselves in the land where they are carried captives, and repent, and pray to You in the land of their captors saying, We have sinned and have done perversely, we have done wickedly,
1Ki 8:48  and so return to You with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and if they pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, to the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your name,

Pro 20:9  Who can say, I have made my heart clean; I am pure from my sin?

Jer 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?

Ecc 7:20  For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.

Isa 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Isa 64:6  But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Rom 3:23  for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,
For all have sinned : - And consequently are equally helpless and guilty; and, as God is no respecter of persons, all human creatures being equally his offspring, and there being no reason why one should be preferred before another, therefore his endless mercy has embraced All.
And come short of the glory of God - και υστερουνται της δοξης του θεου These words have been variously translated. Failed of attaining the glory of God: Have not been able to bring glory to God: Stand in need of the glory, that is, the mercy of God. The simple meaning seems to be this: that all have sinned, and none can enjoy God’s glory but they that are holy; consequently both Jews and Gentiles have failed in their endeavors to attain it, as, by the works of any law, no human being can be justified. A. Clark

1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

E. The testimony of our Children.

The good must be taught to our children. The bad they already know. Sharing with others in not natural, but selfishness is.
